  • What is a "green" job?
Actually, the answer to that question lies somewhere on an extremely broad spectrum. A "green" job can be any position from a traditional, environmentally friendly position working in conservation to brand new positions such as emissions brokers, bio-mimicry engineers, sustainability coordinators, and green architects.

Here is how a few industry insiders define "green" jobs:
"A green job has to do something useful for people, and it has to be helpful, or at least not damaging to, the environment."
-Carl Pope, executive director of the Sierra Club

"It has to pay decent wages and benefits that can support family. It has to be part of a real career path, with upward mobility. And it needs to reduce waste and pollution and benefit the environment."
-Phil Angelides, chairman of the Apollo Alliance board of directors
